Dan Silky granted tenure at the Board meeting

Dan Silky was granted tenure at the November 5th Board of Education meeting. Dan serves as the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services at Fabius-Pompey Central School District, where he has been a key leader since 2021. Initially hired as Business Administrator, his strong performance led to a promotion within two years. Dan oversees budgeting, accounting, purchasing, and cash management for the district, working closely with the Superintendent and managing departments such as transportation, maintenance, and food services. Among his achievements, Dan helped to facilitate the district's first $100,000 capital outlay project and played a central role in passing the district's largest capital project to date, a $19.1 million initiative. He also helped to secure grants for electric buses and pre-kindergarten expansion.
 
Dan previously held finance leadership roles in Otselic Valley and Skaneateles Central School Districts, where he drove cost savings, implemented new financial processes, and served as acting Superintendent when needed. Prior to his career in education, Dan worked in corporate finance at Xerox and KPMG LLP. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Rochester and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in School District Business Leadership from Le Moyne College. Dan is also the current President of the Central New York Chapter of the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) of New York, and he remains active in community service as a youth sports coach and board member.
