Board Game Club

Board Game Club Comes to

Fabius Pompey MS/HS Library

The students at the MS/HS are going crazy for Chess. One chessboard has morphed into 5 boards available each period of the day to students. They are playing on their devices and on game boards whenever they can. Seeing an explosion of interest in chess, Heather Turner, the new School Librarian at the MS/HS has started a board game club. We wanted to be inclusive to all students interested in learning new board games. Chess is one of these games but there are so many others. This club is open to students in grades 6-12 and meetings are every Monday in the MS/HS Library during Activity Period.

Each week we learn a new board game.  During the first week we learned how to bluff in Balderdash.  We learned new vocabulary and blue laws. Did you know it is illegal to fish in Chicago if you are in pajamas?  This past week we played Superfight.  Superfight is a game where you argue with your friends over ridiculous fights. The game is very simple. Have a favorite board game?  Bring it in; we would love to check it out!
